Frustration over Devonport Airport has TasPorts in Council's firing line

The Devonport City Council has endorsed a motion to create a four-council working group to look at joint ownership possibilities for the airport and focus on its development.

The Devonport City Council has endorsed a plan to explore the possibilities of joint ownership of the Devonport Airport.

The council voted at the December 18 meeting to invite three neighbouring councils to form a working group.

Deputy Mayor Stacey Sheehan, the only vote against, wasn't sold on council ownership and questioned if the motion wording locked it in from the outset.
